It helps with turning anger and fear into positive emotions. It is said that Charoite enhances creativity, improves inner strength and courage, increases self esteem, accelerates spiritual growth, and improves the ability to love. Physically, Charoite is thought to assist in the speeding up of healing, reduce headaches, and other ailments. Charoite, pronounced Shar-oh-ite, was discovered in 1978 in the Murun Mountains in the Arctic. It was found near the Charo River, which is what its name derives from. This rare mineral has never been located anywhere else in the world. The Charoite stone is often confused with the fairly similar Sugilite, although it is the Charoite's characteristic light colored inclusions that are the main difference between the two stones. The colors range from bright lavender, violet and lilac to dark purple with swirling patterns of black Agate, and/or transparent crystals of microcline feldspar. Charoite is a complex silicate containing phosphorus, calcium, and sodium. Charoite is a 5-6 hardness on the Mohs scale, which is comparable to Turquoise.
