Details & More Information

The headdress is a very important part of Native American culture.

Typically, a headdress is made of bird feathers and hand constructed with sinew or leather. Acts of bravery and courage were celebrated by adding a new feather to the headdress. Only the most powerful and influential members of the tribe were given the honor of wearing the headdress  and it was often made by the chief or warrior and their closest friends and allies.

Today, we see the Native American headdress as symbol of power and bravery.
